]]>
Camping is a great way to take a break from the hustle and bustle that is today's life. It allows you to connect with nature while reflecting on your life. But the camping experience can be ruined if you don’t have a reliable source of electricity. This article provides practical tips on how you can get electricity while camping.

Why Do You Need Electricity When Camping?

Whether you’ll be camping in a dedicated camping site or a non-designated campground (dispersed camping), you’ll need a source of electricity. This is to ensure your devices are charged throughout the camping trip and also to run electrical appliances like an electric camping stove.

Furthermore, having a source of power can make the camping experience more convenient and comfortable. In other cases, you might need electricity to run medical devices like insulin pumps. As you can see, having a source of electricity is a crucial aspect to consider.

And there are many options to choose from. You can bring solar panels, a power bank, portable power station, or a generator. Each comes with its advantages and disadvantages. As such, you should choose one that meets your power needs and is within your budget.

What To Consider When Choosing a Source of Power

What should guide you to choosing a source of electricity? Let’s find out.

Power Requirements

First, you need to consider the devices and appliances you’ll be using during the camping trip. If you only need to charge your phone, laptop, and GPS device, you don’t need a powerful source of electricity. In fact, a robust power bank can make the cut.

On the other hand, if you’ll be using several devices like a camera, mini-fridge, electric stove, and a lighting system, you might need a robust power source. In this case, a portable power station or solar generator can be a perfect fit.

And determining your power requirements is as easy as listing the wattage of the devices you’ll be using. That way, you can choose a power source that will meet your energy needs.

Length of The Camping Trip

Next, consider how long you’ll be camping. Is it for the weekend? A week? Perhaps a month? Whichever the case, the power needs will be different. Camping for a weekend might require a conventional power bank or a small portable power station.

A month-long camping trip will, ofcourse, require a robust source of power. You might need a high-capacity solar generator and solar panels with high power output.

Type of Camping

There are different types of camping with each having unique power needs. If you’ll be camping in a dedicated campground, you might not need a power source since most have electrical hookups. You just need an extension cord to connect your devices.

Of course, you don’t need to bring a power station for glamping. However, you’ll need a robust source of electricity for wild and dispersed camping. Car camping might require you to bring a portable power station or generator. You’ll be using them for lighting, cooking, and charging your devices.

Your Budget

Finally, your budget will determine what source of electricity you’ll bring along during the camping trip. If you are camping on a budget and need a reliable source of power, you can buy smaller portable power stations. Some premium options sell for as less as $500. But if you are willing to break the bank, consider high-capacity units.

Sources of Electricity When Camping

Now that you know what you need to consider when choosing a power source for camping, here are several electricity options you can consider.

Portable Power Stations

Portable power stations are similar to batteries but on a larger scale. They have a higher capacity and come with additional features such as outlet and inlet ports. Premium units come with apps for remote control and monitoring. But that’s not all, they might also have an LCD display and buttons for intuitive user experience.

As you’d expect, they can provide power for hours or days on a single charge. Speaking of charging, they afford you several charging options. For example, you can recharge them using solar, AC outlets, or conventional generators. The best part is that they can charge multiple devices simultaneously and provide high power output to run medium to large appliances.

For example, the BLUETTI AC200L Portable Power Station has a 2048Wh capacity, which can run multiple devices. It can run a cooling fan for over 70 hours, a refrigerator for more than 30 hours, and keep your lights on for days. The model has an impressive 2400W rated power, ensuring your appliances are powered seamlessly.

As mentioned, premium power stations have apps for remote control. And the BLUETTI AC200L is no exception. You can connect the app to the power station via WiFi or Bluetooth. It is extremely quiet, making it an ideal power source for wild and dispersed camping.

Portable Solar Generators

Another ideal source of electricity are portable solar generators. As the name suggests, they mainly use solar energy to charge their batteries. However, they can also come with other charging options such as AC and lead-acid batteries. Most generators have a higher capacity and power output than portable power stations.

They might come bundled with solar panels since this is meant to be their primary source of power. Like portable power stations, they allow you to charge or connect multiple devices simultaneously, making your camping experience more exciting.

The BLUETTI AC200MAX + 3*PV200D Solar Generator Kit is a perfect example. It comes bundled with three 200W solar panels, which allow quick and seamless recharging of the generator. It also has an impressive 2200W rated power and 4800W surge wattage. This means it can power small to medium camping appliances with ease. No overloading, no downtime.

Thanks to the 2048Wh capacity, you can rest assured it will run throughout the night so you can light your camping tent or cook uninterrupted. It also comes with an app so you can monitor its charging progress remotely. Thanks to its water and dust-proof feature, it is an ideal option for camping.

Portable Power Banks

If you’ll be camping for a weekend and have fewer devices, you might consider using a power bank. These lightweight and compact gadgets allow you to charge devices such as laptops, smartphones, flashlights, and other small gadgets.

They are not as powerful as solar generators or power stations, but still provide ample juice to keep your communication devices on.

Solar panels

Solar panels are another popular source of electricity for campers. They are lightweight, easy to use, and do not require settings adjustment. They provide renewable energy to power appliances and charge devices. And since most camping solar panels are foldable, transporting them from one camping ground to another becomes seamless.

Unfortunately, they are only useful during the day, especially if you don’t have a battery storage system. As such, you should consider them if you’ll be camping in an area with plenty of sunlight.

For example, the BLUETTI PV350 Solar Panel provides high power output to charge and run different devices. It has an impressive 23.4% conversion rate, allowing you to take advantage of peak sun hours.

What to Consider When Choosing a Power Source for Camping

The first aspect you need to consider is the power output. You need an electricity source with a high power output if you’ll be using many devices simultaneously. Conversely, a low power output source of electricity is ideal for smaller gadgets such as smartphones and flashlights.

Another aspect to consider is portability, especially for power stations and generators. You don’t want to go camping with a bulky power station, making it hard to transport it where needed. You need a unit that you can easily carry from one camping tent to another. A unit you can place on the ground or on a camping table.

The device should also be easy to use. That is, it should have an LCD display, tactile buttons, and maybe an app for remote monitoring. Connecting devices should not be a hassle. As such, consider a unit with several output ports.

Recharging the power station or generator should not be an uphill task. Consider units that have several recharging methods like solar, AC, lead-acid battery, and a generator. In short, you should be able to recharge it with just about any source of power.

Finally, consider the fuel source. Is it using fossil fuels or renewable energy? Most power stations and solar generators use solar panels. However, this can be limiting if solar is the only recharging method. On the other hand, gas generators emit toxic gasses, harmful to your health and detrimental to the environment. Furthermore, you’ll need to carry adequate natural gas to last the camping period.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, there are different sources of electricity for camping. You can use portable power stations, solar generators, gas generators, solar panels, or power banks. Consider your power requirements when choosing a source of electricity. If possible use devices powered by solar panels since they are eco-friendly and quiet during operation.

What Type of Solar Panel Is Best for Camping?

There are three different camping solar panels available in the market. That said, which one you opt for depends ultimately on your power requirements, available space during camping, and budget.

  1. Monocrystalline Solar Panels
  • Cost: Monocrystalline solar panels have the highest price among camping solar panels. The reason lies in their complex manufacturing process, which involves cutting cells from a single silicon crystal.
  • Appearance: They are black in color - which is a result of the interaction of light with the pure silicon crystal. Their back sheets and frames are available in many colors, although black is the most common. After all, when they are black, they blend most easily with your rooftop.
  • Efficiency: Offering the highest efficiency, monocrystalline solar panels exceed the efficiency rate of 22%. They also offer power capacities often above 300W, with some reaching over 400W as well.
pv120

In addition, they perform better in warm temperatures due to their lower temperature coefficients.

  • Material: Monocrystalline solar panels are made from a single crystal of silicon. While it is true that their production process ends up wasting silicon, it is no cause for worry. This is because this excess material is utilized for polycrystalline cells.
  • Note: If you have high power needs and less space during camping, select monocrystalline ones as your camping solar panels. While the upfront price is high, you will benefit greatly due to their higher efficiency and power capacity.
  1. Polycrystalline Solar Panels
  • Cost: Polycrystalline solar panels are generally lower in price than monocrystalline solar panels. This is because their manufacturing process is simpler - it involves melting fragments of silicon together.
  • Appearance: They are bluish in color - resulting from the reflection of light off the silicon fragments. Their frames are usually available in silver, with the back sheets in white or silver.
  • Efficiency: Polycrystalline solar panels have lower efficiency and power capacity than monocrystalline solar panels. The efficiency rate rarely exceeds 17%. Their physical size is similar to monocrystalline panels, commonly available in 60, 72, and 96 cell configurations.
  • Material: These camping solar panels are manufactured by melting multiple silicon fragments together.
  • Note: If you have relatively lesser power needs and larger available space, you can opt for polycrystalline ones as your camping solar panels.
  1. Thin Film Solar Panels
  • Cost: Thin film solar panels are made from various materials, such as CdTe, CIGS, or a-Si. Among them, the CdTe panels are the cheapest, while CIGS panels are more expensive.

However, besides their material, thin film solar panels generally have the lowest price among camping solar panels.

  • Appearance: You can buy thin film solar panels in either black or blue color. They are thinner and slimmer compared to the crystalline solar panels.
  • Efficiency: Thin film solar panels have the lowest efficiency - generally around 11%. Their power capacity per square foot is also typically lower than crystalline solar panels.
  • Material: They are made from various materials, including cadmium telluride (CdTe), amorphous silicon (a-Si), or copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS). They are characterized by their layer of photovoltaic material placed on a solid substrate like glass, plastic, or metal.
  • Note: If you are tight on budget and do not have that many power requirements, you can opt for thin film ones as your camping solar panels.

How Much Solar Power Do I Need for Camping?

If you are going camping, which vehicle will you use? Is it a camper van or a recreational vehicle (RV)? Further, are you going alone or with some companions such as friends or family? How long do you intend to stay there?

Secondly, as a person out camping, you would generally have small appliances like a smartphone, a tablet, a camera, lights, and a water cooler.

There can be some bigger appliances, like a mini refrigerator, coffee maker, air conditioner, etc, in the RV or camper van. Which of these appliances will you have, and for how long will you be using them?

Depending on your answers to these questions, the solar power you require will vary. If you are out camping alone, no matter which vehicle you have, your power requirements will be relatively less than if you have companions with you.

Now, the ultimate question is, how much solar power do you need for camping? Generally, 50W to 100W of solar power is sufficient to run all the small appliances. You might need solar power of 200W or greater if you have many bigger appliances to charge.

At the same time, also ensure that you add a buffer - some additional solar power to the one you calculated. This is important because oftentimes, the power used from camping solar panels ends up exceeding the power calculated.

Is 200W Solar Enough for Camping?

A 200W solar panel provides sufficient power to run several of your electrical appliances. Examples include a laptop, LED lights, an energy-efficient mini refrigerator (typical of an RV), and a coffee maker, among other appliances, provided they are not running all the time.

If you have decided to heed the call of nature, go on an adventurous trip to the woods where the sky stretches wide, trees stand tall, and winds whirl as if gossiping; you need to continue reading this blog till the end.

In this blog, we will uncover all the information you need to know about tent camping and car camping. Stick around and find out more about the camping options.

What is Car Camping?

car camping

Car camping is a widely known term and is commonly a misunderstood term. Most people take it as a recreational activity where you camp close to your vehicle. However, there are people who take car camping as sleeping in your car while going on a trip.

Car camping is believed to be safer and more comfortable than backpacking and camping away from cars. In addition to this, you can also manipulate temperatures (turn on the AC or heater) when you are car camping, which might not be possible in another sort of camping.

However, for car camping, you might need to off load your car gears and load the car with your camping gears which can be a little bothersome.

What is Tent Camping?

tent camping

Tent camping is a self-explanatory term that implies you are sleeping in your tents during your trekking. Tent camping is the true soul of camping, where you can experience nature closely and enjoy your tour in the woods.

Furthermore, regarding cost, tent camping is the most cost-effective option for adventure lovers. You can install a good tent camping setup with minimal and cheap items like air mattresses, camp stoves, sleeping bags, ice chests, and lanterns.

You can set up a good quality tent camp for a family of four for $2000; however, if you are keeping your budget low, you can also set up a tent camp for $1000.

In addition to this, tent camps are easy to install compared to all other camping options. You just need to move your camping gear from the trunk of your car to your camping site. However, tent camping might not be as comfortable as other camping options if you are looking for comfort.

For instance, if you are unable to find plain ground while tent camping, you might sleep uncomfortably on your air mattresses. In addition to this, tent camping will not be able to combat negative temperatures.

On the flip side, car camping can make your sleeping place cozy and toasty enough to ensure a comfortable sleep. In addition to this, if you are camping in hot regions, tent camping can be extremely challenging. Car camping comes with an air conditioner that can alleviate extreme temperatures, making your camping time more comfortable.

Furthermore, some of the trailers also come with an in-built washroom and a heating system for tap water. Thus, all in all, the tent camping can be budget-friendly but it might not provide you the luxuries that other camping options can offer.

Car Camping vs. Tent Camping: What Difference?

When you step out in nature, you will have multiple options for camping. In this blog, we discuss two camping options: car camping and tent camping. Here is a comparison of the pros and cons of tent and car camping so that you can analyze which option suits you the best.

Pros and Cons of Car Camping

Car camping refers to a type of camping where you settle your camp beside your vehicle. The camping site can either be a designated camping ground or a more remote place where you can park your car easily, which makes camping comfortable and convenient. Let's dive into further benefits of car camping:

  • Convenience: When your car is your camp, you can carry more camping gear like foldable chairs, food-filled coolers, and other portable stuff.
  • Comfort: For your comfort, you can carry multiple pieces of equipment, like blankets, thicker mattresses, a portable heater, or even a fan, in the back of your car.
  • Safety: Your camping car protects you from wildlife and serves as a quick escape from emergencies.

On the flip side, there are several disadvantages of car camping as well, which are listed below:

  • Crowds: If you park your camping cars at designated car campsites, it can get more crowded than you can ever think especially during the peak seasons. This may disfavor your will to enjoy solitude.
  • Cost: The grounds designated for car camping often come with fees, which can be an extra expense.
  • Environment Impact: Cars can leave a massive carbon footprint even when they are parked somewhere in the woods. Hence, these can affect the environment when you park them as your camping gear.

Pros and Cons of Tent Camping

Traditionally, tent camping has been the more favored option for outdoor adventurers. The tent camping also includes activities like hiking to remote places. Here are some of the benefits associated with tent camping:

  • Connection with Nature: If you love nature and go camping to feel connected with the elements, you should opt for tent camping instead of car camping as the former gives more immersive experience.
  • Minimal Impact: If you act responsibly, you can leave the camping site with minimal environmental effects.
  • Cost-Effective: With tent camping, you can clear off car camping ground charges.

However, it does come with certain drawbacks as well. Here are some of the disadvantages of tent camping:

  • Physical Demand: Tent camping is physically more demanding compared to other camping options as it requires you to carry your camping gear to potentially distant places.
  • Comfort: Tent camping can sometimes turn out to be uncomfortable as there are no food-filled coolers or thick mattresses.
  • Safety: You are more exposed to wildlife and elements, which means compromised safety.

What Should I Bring When Camping?

There are multiple camping gear that you must bring with you when you are going on a venture. However, if you wish to sustain the comfort of your home, you should have some portable power stations that can power your car or tent camp.

Here are the best camping portable power stations that can prove to be a savior in remote areas:

Furthermore, with these power stations, you can also reduce carbon footprints as these deploy solar energy to produce electricity.

Car or Tent Camping: Which One Is Right for You?

Car camping and tent camping both can feel right when the timing is right. However, there are certain situations where one beats the other in advantages. For instance, if you are camping with a bunch of people, camping in the car might not be the right option as it won’t be as spacious. Whereas if you are out alone, you might prefer sleeping in a car to ensure security and safety from wildlife.

In addition to this, if you are camping for a quick nap, you would rather prefer to sleep inside your car than to off load your tenting camps and sleep there. Hence, your conditions will decide which one is a better option for you.

park

Visiting National Parks during the Summer is fun and exciting. Yet, a perfectly planned day can be ruined if you fail to prepare well beforehand. Therefore, we have compiled a few tips and resources to help you have the best summer trip yet!

1. Select the Right Park

Choosing the best Park according to your wants and expectations is the first step to truly savor every moment of your visit. Refer to the list provided above to determine which National park fits your best interests.

Make a list of activities you would like to indulge in. You may be looking forward to fishing, hiking, or birdwatching. After compiling the list, begin your research and pick your destination accordingly.

2. Research

You must research and learn about the rules and regulations specific to the National Park you are planning to visit. This is a crucial step to avoid any inconvenience later.

Secondly, you must have a rough idea of how to get around the park and which transportation options best suit your needs. Some Parks are best visited on foot, by boats, or by self-driven vehicles.

3. Early Reservation

If you wish to stay at the Park’s lodging, you are advised to make your reservations early to avoid hassle. If the reservations have already been made, keep checking regularly for any possible cancellations.

4. Comfortable Clothing

Wear comfortable materials and shoes, especially if you have planned your trip around the warmer months. Breathable and loose fabrics are mostly preferred.

You might want to bring a hat as an accessory to avoid severe heat and protect your skin against the harsh rays of the sun.

5. Don't Forget the Essentials

Umbrellas, Sunscreen, allergy medicines, bandages, water bottles, day packs, flashlights, and maps are some key essentials that you are expected to carry around for ease.

Bring extra clothing if you intend to stay for an entire day or night. Consider bringing along snacks and drinks to keep yourself satiated during long trails.

6. Appropriate Gear

Apart from the items mentioned above, you must make sure to bring appropriate gear for your trip. This might include a first-aid kit, a GPS device, or a smartphone.

Investing in a portable power bank to keep your phone fully charged is equally important. Your battery will run out in a few hours as you'll have to use your phone to keep in touch with your tour group/friends and take pictures.

]]>
With summer just around the corner, you must have considered camping in the woods. You may have contemplated going on a scenic hike, relaxing at a lakeside, or cooking delicious meals by the fire. But what do you do when the weather has other plans?

Your worry is understandable. Camping in the rain can seem daunting and discouraging, even for experienced enthusiasts. Spontaneous rain, one that is not already prepped for, can make the situation worse.

Although seemingly dangerous, camping in the rain can become a memorable and joyful trip if you prepare beforehand and pack the right gear for it.

Our guide covers the know-how of every minute detail you need to keep in mind, with excellent product recommendations to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

What Do You Need for Camping in the Rain?

camping in rain

Preparation beforehand is the most essential element of camping in the rain. Without adequate gear, your trip can easily take a road downhill. You must invest in these recommendations to enhance the quality and drive contentment from your endeavor. Take pen and paper, and let’s get started!

  1. Pack a Rain Jacket

Now, this may seem like common sense. Who wouldn't prepare for the worst? Yet the majority overlook this step easily in their overjoyed attempts to focus on the latter half of the trip.

Packing sufficiently and strategically is equally important to ensure your trip runs smoothly. You may want to keep extra layers of clothing in case you soak often.

  1. Don’t Forget Waterproof Shoes

Most people detest getting their shoes wet, even more so than their clothing. Understandably, wet shoes take twice as long to dry and reuse, which can be a hassle. Pack extra pairs of shoes, preferably waterproof, to avoid possible inconvenience.

  1. Waterproof Tent

You may want to invest in a high-quality, waterproof tent that provides adequate protection against the rain.

When looking for waterproof tents, consider purchasing tents with water-resistant rainfly and sealed seams for added protection against downpours.

  1. Line the Inside and Outside of Your Tent

Although placing a groundsheet on the ground can reduce the amount of water that seeps in from the ground, the risk is nevertheless present.

To solve this problem, consider lining your tent from the inside. First, grab hold of the thick plastic sheet used by workers for construction. Then, cut a piece off that is approximately six inches wider than the diameter of your tent. Place this piece inside as an added layer of defense.

To shield your tent externally, place an overhanging protection tarp. This tarp will allow you a little more space beyond your tent, almost mimicking a front porch, to keep extra material/clothing.

  1. Bring an Extra Supply of Plastic Bags

Big plastic bags (garbage bags), along with zip-lock bags, can come in handy in multiple ways when camping in the rain while taking up minimal space in your luggage.

You can use these to store both dry and wet items, such as firewood and wet clothing. The Ziplock bags can be used to keep your packed clothing and accessories safe and protected against the downpour.

  1. Portable Power Station

Carrying a portable power station is an excellent way to cater to all your power-related needs. You need a product that can withstand harsh, rainy conditions while providing optimal and maximum benefit.

Making use of technology can make your journey tenfold easier. Consider buying a model that is smart and portable. Check out the best Portable Power Station to Purchase for your next camping trip.

Is It a Good Idea to Camp in the Rain?

Camping in the rain is a one-of-a-kind experience. It is equally rewarding and memorable. However, it requires a combined basic level of expertise and knowledge. Consider the following factors before planning your trip.

  1. Preparation: As we discussed, your trip can lean towards either side of the two extremes based on your level of preparation. Waterproof clothing and tents are some of the basic components.
  2. Expertise: If you have never experienced camping in the rain, you may want to do some extra research and learn about the subject. Consider taking advice from someone who has.
  3. Location: Choosing a relatively safer location and terrain for your camping spot is essential to the quality of your overall decision. Avoid camping in areas that are more prone to flooding and or have a slippery slope.
  4. Mindset: As with everything else in life, the decision to go camping in the rain will boil down to your mindset and overall approach. Maintaining a positive mindset is crucial to the enjoyment derived from the trip.

Whether camping in the rain is a good idea for you will reduce itself to personal preference, level of expertise, knowledge, and certain choices you make along the way. Make sure to go through our product recommendations to make decision-making easier.

This is an essential camping checklist for a weekend outdoors to consider before setting out for your camping trip.

Is It Safe to Camp Out at Night in the Rain?

camping

Camping at night can be a little more challenging, especially when it rains. You might have to take additional measures to make your experience safe and smooth. Consider the following factors when camping at night in the rain.

  1. Location: Opt for a location that is less prone to flooding and offers good drainage to eliminate risks at night.
  2. Tent: Your tent must be water resistant and well set up so you do not have to fix it at night if it rains.
  3. Tools and Equipment: Pack flashlights and sleeping gear to reduce any possible risk of trouble at night
  4. Emeergnecy Supplies: Don't forget to pack emergency supplies, including medicines, first aid kit, emergency shelter, etc.

Although the precautions mentioned previously can ensure safety, you may want to talk to people who have had a similar experience. If the weather forecast is consulted beforehand and the location is chosen wisely, it will be safe to camp out at night in the rain.

Tips for Camping in the Rain

Besides packing strategically and sufficiently for your camping adventure, we have gathered and grouped additional tips to help aid your research.

  • Weather Forcast: Take notes on the number of days you’d spend at the camping site, including temperature and rain probability. Frequently double-check the weather forecast for possible changes that might affect your decisions.
  • Avoid Packing Cotton Clothing: Refrain from bringing in clothing made of cotton material, as it absorbs humidity and takes longer to dry. Consider packing nylon and lightweight materials that do not hold onto moisture.
  • Fire-starters: It will be close to impossible and extremely frustrating to start a wire with wet wood and soggy match sticks. Remember to bring extra firestarters so you do not shiver in the cold!
  • Clothesline: Carry and hang a clothesline to dry your clothes faster. It is lightweight and can be used inside or outside your tent, depending on the weather conditions.
  • Shoes: Pack shoes that are waterproof and have good traction to avoid slipping and eliminate the possible risk of injury.
  • Dry your Gear: Before you depart and after you return home, make sure to dry your camping gear properly, especially the tent. Clean it and shake any leftover water off of the tent before using it.
  • Plan Other Activities: In addition to watching the rain and taking in the scenic view, carry books, board games, or any other activity of your choice, as the rain period might extend longer than expected.

Enjoy Your Camping

The most important trick for making camping in the rain exciting and unforgettable is to stay positive and enjoy each moment to the fullest.

Chances are that some things might not go as planned even after you prepare well. Therefore, it is essential that you stay calm and present in the moment to figure out the best possible solution,

Relax, reflect, and take in the rhythmic quality of the rain, along with the enticing scent and scenic landscape. Embrace every minor inconvenience as part of the experience. Take this opportunity to spend more time with yourself and the people around you.

Most of all, you will learn skills that will help you throughout your life!

]]>
Camping is no doubt a favorite experience for most outdoor enthusiasts. And one type of camping you should try is glamping. Glamping uses luxurious amenities like power stations, glamping tents, and high-quality chairs. This article looks at 12 DIY glamping ideas you can employ in your next trip.

1. Use a Glamping Tent

If you are looking for the most authentic glamping experience, you’ll have to get a glamping tent. They are spacious, appealing to the eye, and of high quality. As you’d expect, they come in different sizes and shapes.

One aspect you need to consider when buying a glamping tent is the material. A typical glamping tent has robust poles, thick guy lines, and industry-standard material, serving you for many years. So, make sure to check out the material before making a purchase.

Another aspect to consider is the tent’s size. Think of how many people will be glamping with you. Larger tents are spacious and have a high ceiling, allowing you to accommodate many people. That said, you don’t want to buy a very large tent as this will require more space to install. Besides, carrying it can be a daunting task.

Other factors to consider include waterproofing, ease of setup, flame protection, and tent type.

2. Use a High Quality Source of Power

While there are several ways to power your devices when glamping, you’d want to use a power source that can serve you for an extended period. Notable examples include generators, power stations, or conventional batteries. But you don’t want to use a source limiting how many devices you can connect or charge.

This is where a robust power station comes into play. Power stations are quiet when operating, portable, and easy to use. Furthermore, they allow you to charge several devices simultaneously. And BLUETTI has some of the most reliable power stations ideal for glamping.

Here are a few you can use during your next camping trip.

BLUETTI AC200L Portable Power Station | 2,400W 2,048Wh

A portable and lightweight power station, the BLUETTI AC200L provides ample energy to power appliances when glamping. Whether you want to power a mini-refrigerator, water heater, or a large electric cooker, this power station has you covered. It has a 2,048Wh capacity, serving you for days or weeks depending on the appliances.

And you are not limited to one charging method, instead, you can choose between the six methods including AC, solar, and a generator. Smart control via Bluetooth and WiFi will only bolster your glamping experience. It is quiet, meaning you can use it in the glamping tent.

BLUETTI AC180 Solar Portable Power Station | 1,800W 1,152Wh

This is yet another power station you can use when glamping. It features 11 output ports allowing you to connect multiple devices simultaneously. The nimble yet high-efficient power station provides four recharging methods such as AC, solar, car, and a generator. As you can see, you are not limited to a single recharging method.

What sets the BLUETTI AC180 is its fast charging capacity. It can charge from 0% to 80% in 45 minutes. Using the power station allows you to Leave No Trace when glamping since it is eco-friendly and offers a clean source of power. If you are looking for a cost-effective power station, this is the power station for you.

BLUETTI AC2A Portable Power Station | 300W 204Wh

Finally, you can bolster your glamping experience by buying this portable power station. It has a 204.8Wh capacity, which is ideal for running most devices and appliances. And thanks to the 600W

powerlifting mode, you can connect medium appliances with ease. And thanks to the 270W turbo charging, it recharges from 0% to 80% in 45 minutes.

Like other BLUETTI portable power stations, you get four recharging methods including a lead battery, AC, solar, and a generator. You also get a smart control app so you can monitor and control from the comfort of your glamping bed.

3. Use a Glamping Bed or Mattress

Glamping is not about using a thin camping mat, rather, you want to use a comfortable bed or air mattress. Since glamping tents are spacious, you can use large beds or air mattresses. When choosing a glamping air mattress, you need to consider the price since they are more expensive than conventional camping mats.

Also consider the size and weight. Ideally, you want to buy an air mattress that is easy to use and carry. That said, you don’t want to buy a lightweight option that compromises quality. Other factors to consider include the speed of inflation, thickness and height of the mattress.

4. Use Fancy Lighting

If you want luxurious glamping use fancy lights inside and outside the tent. You don’t want to use a flashlight or harsh white light. Instead, use LED fairy lights. Not only are they appealing to the eye but are also energy-efficient. You can also hang lanterns around the glamping tent to create an ambient surrounding.

5. Consider Luxurious chairs

You don’t want to sit on chairs that cause you to get numb or place your cup on the ground. Ideally, it should be stylish, comfortable, and practical. You also need to consider quality and functionality. It should have a cup holder, a relaxing sitting height, and a comfortable back rest.

You may also consider portability. That is, choosing a foldable chair for seamless transportation. If you want more luxury choose chairs with wooden armchairs and cotton seat covers. Alternatively, you can use soft furnishings such as cushions. This will give your tent a more homely experience.

6. Cook Delicious Food

One way to bolster the glamping experience is to cook delicious food and share it with your friends or family. As you’d expect, you want to cook food that you rarely eat.

Preparing BBQ is one of the best glamping food recipes. The aroma and taste awakens your taste buds, especially if you grill sausages and burgers. Whether you are glamping in your backyard or campsite, this recipe is a perfect bet.

Preparing a yummy picnic food in your backyard or campsite. Your imagination is the limit. Whether you want to prepare yummy smoothies or sprawling salads, you can cook just about anything.

7. Enjoy Unique Entertainment

Glamping can also involve engaging in games rather than just sitting down. And there are many entertainment ideas you can adopt.

One entertainment idea is stargazing. Let’s face, rarely do we get the time to enjoy the star-filled skies. Glamping allows you to enjoy watching stars with your friends and family. And if you have apps that show different constellations, you can use this opportunity for learning purposes.

Another ideal game is treasure hunting. The best part is you can play it with your kids, especially during a sunset. But that’s not all, a movie night with friends will surely brighten the mood in your glamping tent.

8. Use Food Jars As Wine Glasses

While you can take normal wine glasses to your glamping site, using washed food jars significantly bolsters the glamping experience. Sturdier and spacious, they allow you to sip your wine for an extended period.

Furthermore, they have lids, meaning you can carry the wine when going for a stroll or hiking. You can even go further and choose food jars with appealing colors.

9. Bring Battery Powered and Scented Candles

Want to bring that romantic vibe? Why not use scented and battery powered candles. The scent they produce combines naturally with luxurious lights. And since they are battery powered, they do not produce gasses that can damage your glamping experience. There are many to choose from and come in different scents and sizes.

10. Use AC/Heating to Keep Yourself Warm

You don’t want to go glamping in a cold tent. While glamp tents are made of high-quality and thick material, they cannot keep off cold entirely. This is where a heater or AC comes into play. The best part is there are portable units, meaning you can transport them with ease. Don’t overheat your tent, otherwise, your glamping experience will be poor.

11. Bring an Eye Mask and Ear Plugs

If you want to sleep soundly, you can use an eye mask or ear plugs. The eye mask blocks out light in your tent while the ear plugs block noise from your surroundings. And you don’t have to break the bank to get practical options. The eye mask should be soft on your eyes while the ear plugs should fit your ears comfortably.

12. Don’t Forget an Extension Cord

While a rarity with most campers, an extension cord allows you to connect different devices and appliances from a single source of power. Whether you want to power the LED lights or a projector, an extension cord got you covered. Consider the plug configuration, size, code designations, and power requirements.

Final Thoughts

Glamping, unlike conventional camping, requires you to use luxurious devices, equipment, and appliances. It provides a homely experience from your background or a campsite. Use a power station as your source of power. Should you need one, consider buying from BLUETTI.

]]>
If you’re planning a camping trip, but have to take your CPAP therapy and it's worrying you, this guide is for you. Camping with a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine may seem to be an overwhelming task, but it is as easy and feasible if the trip goes on your mind along with proper accessories.

To guide you in planning your travel, we shall take through the things that you should know and aspects to be taken into consideration before camping with a CPAP machine. We’ll discuss how to power up and other issues about camping, as well as taking your CPAP machine off the grid.

Is There a Way to Run a CPAP While Camping?

cpap

When a CPAP machine is accompanying you on an outdoor camping trip, the need to continue therapy in the wilderness becomes apparent. Lucky for you, there are two main ways to sleep under the stars while still benefiting from your CPAP treatment.

Choose a Campsite With Power

One of the easiest and most comfortable ways to power your CPAP during camping is by choosing a campsite that has power hookups. Much modern camping is now equipped with electricity, enabling the seamless connection of CPAP devices without concern for battery longevity. This alternative offers the homely comfort of a regular sleeping pattern, and also presents an opportunity to indulge in more luxuries such as air conditioning systems plus electronic gadgets. Picking out a campsite with power supply is not just one initiative toward balancing your camp life with CPAP therapy but also preparing for any eventuality that may occur during the trip.

Take Your Therapy Off-Grid

With those who want a more thrilling and remote off-the-grid camping experience, it is completely possible to run a CPAP machine without depending on any external power sources. Portable power stations, camping generators or solar panels are among the portable power solutions that can help you maintain your CPAP. By having a dependable power supply, you are free to select camping areas that do not have traditional campsites. Nevertheless, proper planning and testing of your off-site power system before leaving the comforts of civilization is very important to avoid unwanted surprises. Moreover, the need for additional batteries arises when using a CPAP machine with features such as a humidifier which can speed up power draining.

Two Ways to Power Your CPAP Off-The-Grid

While camping out in nature using a CPAP machine, going off-grid does not necessarily imply giving up on peaceful slumber. There are two simple ways to power your CPAP off-the-grid.

Using A Portable Power Station

By investing in a portable power station that you can haul everywhere, it becomes easier to run your CPAP machine off-the grid. However, such portable and mobile devices have a range of outlets to include AC power that can also work with CPAP machines. CPAP users can charge portable power stations before their camping trip and use them to provide continuous electricity for the whole night. These stations are convenient because they have the capability to power several electronic devices, giving you enough sources of energy for your CPAP device and other camping needs. A reliable power station that can supply enough energy to support your CPAP machine is necessary for smooth and uninterrupted sleeping in remote areas.

Using A CPAP Battery Pack

CPAP-specific battery packs are specially designed batteries that can be used with the devices to power them without depending on conventional electricity facilities. As these lightweight and portable battery packs are necessarily small, they can be easily carried around during camping. With your battery pack connected to the CPAP machine, you are not under any constraints of being plugged in power outlets. It is recommended to make sure that the battery pack is compatible with your CPAP model but if you are planning a long-term off grid adventure, carry an extra pair of batteries. CPAP battery packs provide a convenient and effective option, allowing you to enjoy the peace of being in nature without sacrificing your sleep apnea treatment.

The Benefits Of Using A Portable Power Station for Camping

Comfort And Convenience

Given the fact that comfort and convenience are what people seek when they go camping, access to electricity is an important requirement. When you escape into the natural world, a portable electric generator enables you to appreciate what modern life offers.

And consider what it would be like to wake up surrounded by the sounds of nature and make a fresh cup of coffee with an ease that doesn’t require lighting a fire or using propane camping stoves.

Provision of an Eternal Source of Power

In essence, on their own portable power stations are akin to an enormous battery that offers ample storage for electricity needs and can supply enough juice to run all your essentials throughout the weekend of camping. For extended camping expeditions, we suggest using a mobile solar power station paired with portable foldable units to get unlimited access to clean energy derived from the sun throughout your adventure.

Clean And Quiet Alternative

Some of the campers carry with them a gas-powered generator which can be used to provide power for either their RV or campsite. Gas generators are indeed noisy and produce toxic gas emissions, such as carbon monoxide. This damages your own camping experience, in addition to the fact that a noisy generator disturbs neighboring camps. Instead of using a gas-powered generator, we suggest replacing it with a portable power station and solar panels so that the campsite is quieter, safer and cleaner. They deliver as much power as a gas generator, are quite convenient to recharge and produce virtually no air pollution.

Compact And Portable

However, you might feel hesitant about purchasing a portable power station for camping – it’s just one more gadget that takes up space in your already overflowing car with sleeping bags as well coolers and those things called ‘camp chairs’. However, you may be amazed at the small size that a PPS can have. The BLUETTI’s small to medium models take up less space than a regular cooler.

Final Thoughts

It is clear to see that you do not have to cancel your upcoming camping trip on the grounds of using a CPAP machine or stop using a CPAP device in order to travel. What you need is to find a way of powering your CPAP machine when out there. And any of the options we have suggested here can be used. Henceforth, you are able to take your CPAP therapy with you as you have a great time outdoors.

What Not To Bring For Camping?

Perfumes And Deodorants

When one is in a camp there is no reason to spay artificial scents – not only are some of the perfumes, aftershaves and deodorants attracting animals and insects but they can also pollute water resources.

Excess Toiletries

As noted earlier, artificial scenting nature can lead to environmental degradation and toiletries are no different as they also use harmful chemicals. Bring along camp-friendly soaps or cleansers in ample supply but avoid bringing too many toiletries that could poison the ecosystem and water supplies nearby.

Glass

The material of your camp goods should be considered when you are thinking about cooking and drinking utensils. Traditional gas and diesel generators have been the go-to choices for reliable backup power solutions. Nevertheless, noise pollution, fuel consumption and having to operate them outdoors because they are harmful have made alternative power users look for a more practical solution that is environmentally-friendly.

Now enter the solar generator – a real innovator in the field of emergency power. Innovative devices combine backup battery power stations with solar panels harnessing and converting the sunlight into an alternative energy source. Solar generators are quite opposite to their noisy gas counterparts and provide a stealthy way of ensuring that your lifelines remain functional.

Talking about van living, solar generators are a great fit for you if you choose to embrace a more mobile lifestyle. These attached generators are capable of charging while on the move and therefore supply a reliable fuelless power source for running appliances in vans, RVs or any other kind of mobile dwelling.

So read on to discover how to choose a solar generator, how they would benefit you and are they worth it?

What is A Solar Generator?

bluetti solar generator

Alright, so picture a solar generator as your own little buddy that feeds off the sun’s energy. Not an ordinary generator, it sucks up those rays and converts them into electric power. Such systems usually have mounted solar panels which collect sunlight and route the collected energy into an internal storage system that often employs lithium-ion technology.

You won't see solar generators powering big houses because of their capacity limitations, they are quite decent in other practical applications. Solar generators are particularly useful for boats, campervans and outdoor adventures.

These solar systems are very efficient because they can transform sunlight into renewable energy, thus creating an environment-friendly source of power. The integrated lithium-ion storage will provide a continual stream of power so that you can draw upon the stored energy whenever it is needed, be it while cruising offshore on a boat or using the campervan to journey across the country.

Pros Of Using Solar Generator For Van Life

Green Energy

One of the most appealing qualities of solar generators is just how eco-friendly they are. As the solar generator operates, there are no fumes or exhaust so this unit can be installed both inside and outside. Solar power is the cleanest way of charging your gadgets in van life.

Quiet Operation

If one of the reasons that you have chosen van life is to get away from sound pollution in cities and neighborhoods, then a solar generator will provide just what your mental well-being needs. A solar generator has eliminated all that noise. An elegant way to power is a quiet, clean and cheap one.

Portability

Solar generators are portable. This versatility is invaluable, especially if you wish to drive the van far into the woods where there might not be room for parking. You can simply take your power along with you! And since camper vans are smaller and have a sort of living area footprint, it goes without saying that a portable solar generator isn’t going to take up all of the space in your van.

Low Maintenance

Investing in a solar generator would therefore be quite worthwhile because they need hardly any maintenance or upkeep. You don’t have to keep anything lubricated so nothing rubs against something else and you also never need worry about spillages since there’s no gas tank that needs filling.

Also, there are a lot less moving parts to worry about. Your only trouble is to simply set up and take down your solar panels to charge your solar generator.

Cost Saving

A solar generator is a smart idea for one-time investment. After you’ve purchased, your running cost will be cheaper compared to a fuel powered generator. The sun provides free solar recharging and considering gas prices which have a tendency of going up you can save your bucks. Thus, when compared to other generators you will realize that solar types have a slightly higher initial cost; however it will not take long before the equation of being money saving hits.

How Do You Choose a Solar Generator for Living in a Van?

]]>
Picture yourself getting ready for a camping trip, imagining the calmness of Nature. You breathe in the crisp country air, filling your lungs with it while surrounded by a refreshing scent of pine—your mind throbs in anticipation of a crackling campfire and the soothing comforts of nature.

However, for those suffering from sleep apnea, the idea of camping brings about entirely different problems. How do you deal with the wilderness while ensuring your CPAP device remains powered? It is a valid issue that must be reviewed carefully for effective camping.

Fear not, fellow adventurers! Camping with CPAP therapy is possible and an enjoyable activity. Be it that you are snuggled in a warm tent or poring upwards at the gleaming stars, sleep is only moments away. Let's look at some insights on making your CPAP camping adventure an absolute hit.

Understanding CPAP Power Requirements

cpap

Regarding CPAP power needs, some information can take one far in confirming that your camping is as restful. Start by familiarising yourself with your CPAP machine's voltage and wattage specifications – these numbers are the answer keys. For instance, if your device works at 12V and 50W- a simple calculation (12 V × 4.2Ah=50W) shows that a 4.2 Ah battery could power it for around 1 hour.

Enter the portable power solutions into the equation. With a dependable 100Wh lithium-ion battery, you may power your CPAP for two nights (100Wh = 2 nights). Try a solar charger – a 50W panel will charge your battery in about four to five hours of sunlight.

How Can I Power My CPAP While Camping?

Choose a Campsite With Power

The first strategic step when discussing camping with a CPAP machine is picking a campsite with electrical hookups. Choosing a site with electricity access will ensure an easy and reliable power source for your CPAP. Many of them, especially those specifically planned for RVs, have power connections at the designated sites. This ensures a smooth power supply to your CPAP device and allows you the luxury of peace outdoors without worrying about how long the battery will last.

Prepare More CPAP Batteries

The second item on the checklist is to prepare with multiple CPAP batteries. Measure your nightly usage and pack some extra. This insight not only envisions unplanned situations but also lets you live more adventurously without skimping on having a restful night.

Bring a Portable Power Station

cpap

If you want ultimate self-sufficiency, take a portable power station. These small power packs can keep your CPAP going for several nights, giving you a versatile solution.

Different models come with various capacities; therefore, select a model that matches the number of days you are camping. BLUETTI's AC70 portable power station is one of the best. It provides continuous power of 1000W; in power-shifting mode, the power rises to 2000W. BLUETTI AC70 offers the luxury of solar energy as well. Choosing a solar-powered model creates an environmental feel, using the sun's energy to recharge during daylight and continue functioning throughout the calm night when CPAP operation is necessary.

Advantages of Using Portable Power Station to Power CPAP While Camping

Hushed Operation

A portable power station will be a silent ally in powering your CPAP throughout the night, allowing you to enjoy the tranquillity of noise-free sleep. Fear not; it will not interfere with your peaceful sleep as you awaken and rejuvenate in the calm environment of your camping getaway.

Integrated Power Socket

The integrated power socket increases its allure as there is no need to bring additional accessories. Just plug your CPAP machine into the built-in socket, making everything easier while simplifying the setup and reducing unnecessary components.

Portability

The mobile power station's lightness and portability make it suitable for camping or traveling. Take it wherever you go, making it your best friend for your CPAP and other devices when moving.

Solar Power Utilisation

However, what distinguishes the portable power station is its recharging to precharge, especially through solar panels. As an eco-conscious alternative, the mobile power station stands out from other options; choosing it would make your CPAP-powered during outdoor escapades a no-brainer choice.

3 Tips for Bringing Your CPAP Camping

Plan Beforehand

Planned woodland fun and frolics while suffering from sleep apnea require careful consideration. Take a minute to plan whether you will power your CPAP with electricity or solar energy. Make sure that all main parts, such as a solar generator, are included in the backpack and charged before going to bed surrounded by Nature's beauty. Before hitting the woods for a short night or two, it is wise to prepare for unexpected turns.

Keep CPAP Fully Charged

In that regard, a crucial step for those who use portable batteries to power their CPAP is precharging it at home. This makes it ready to mount when you arrive, saving you from rushing at night for last-minute charging in your car or through a generator when bedtime calls.

Ensure Your CPAP Machine Stays Both Clean and Dry

When leaving the familiar warmth of home, handling your CPAP becomes more important. Elements such as water can result in a threat to its ability to function correctly or permanent damage. This makes a secure, waterproof storage container necessary as it keeps your equipment safe and gives you confidence while moving around in the woods.

Final Thoughts

Don't let sleep apnea curtail your happiness with life adventures. Pack your CPAP machine and one of BLUETTI's marvelous portable power stations when the woods call. Enjoy their versatility and flexibility for mobile charging during your next escapade. If you picture the serenity of Nature, your CPAP is gently humming away due to a reliable power station by BLUETTI. Designed for easy integration into outdoor escapades, these portable power stations keep you and your CPAP charged all night – no matter where your wanderlust takes you. With BLUETTI by your side, every adventure becomes a festival of freedom where sleep apnea turns into a faint murmur in the grand orchestra dedicated to Nature's wonders.

Camping is so much fun with loved ones. Breathing in the fresh air and breathtakingly beautiful views - it's all so refreshing. Let's talk about convenience. To enjoy these times, having the right things in the right amount is pivotal. Above all, the necessary thing is the power to run the stove, charge your camera to capture the views or make a refreshing coffee.

That's when portable generators make your campsite comfortable with all the power you need. They come in different models and sizes, fitting for all needs. Knowing how much power you need, the types of generators, and how to quantify your needs and power capacity. So, to understand how to get the right generator to make camping more fun, stay with us!

Types Of Portable Generators

Portable Power Station

Often referred to as portable generators, portable power stations are robust, compact devices designed to provide electricity during camping trips. These generators don't run on propane or fuel like traditional ones do. Instead, they use specialized batteries to store and release energy.

The fact that these power plants are battery-operated further reduces the possibility of excessive carbon monoxide emissions. Generators powered by propane or natural gas release carbon monoxide into the air.

Portable power stations are well known for their many benefits. They frequently have lots of power outlets, as well as USB and DC connectors! These ports make power stations ideal for powering appliances and charging small devices when camping or going on outdoor excursions.

Solar Generators

Solar generators use the sun's energy to generate power. They give a green, renewable power supply for many uses. These machines are great for reducing pollution while getting off-grid power.

More and more people use them because they help you use less fossil fuels. Furthermore, they have low upkeep costs and last for many years. You can also get solar generators in various sizes and power capacities.

Gas and Diesel Generator

Gas and diesel generators are easy to use and not costly. These generators work on the mentioned fuels so power stays constant. Famous for being sturdy, efficient with fuel, and mighty in performance, they are trusted energy sources.

Yet, drawbacks exist. These machines are loud, produce toxic fumes, and add to your carbon footprint by releasing harmful gases. Also, using it for a long time can lead to significant fuel and upkeep costs. These may hurt your budget over time. Even if they work well, we must consider the effect on nature and the extra costs.

Estimate Camping Power Needs Based On Equipment

Planning your power for camping is essential to make the trip worry-free. Look at the equipment you'll need - like a small stove and stuff for charging phones or tablets. Write down all your electric stuff and how much power they need. Make a list of it - like a stove that needs 50 W, a phone charger needing 20 W, or a coffee maker using up to 100 W. Add them up - 50 + 20 + 100 = 170 watts.

Now, add a safety margin of 20%. 170W + 20% = 204W.

So, you'll want a generator of 200-250W for these devices—smaller ones only for phones, bigger for other electronic tools.

Knowing how much power you need avoids unexpected problems. Make a good plan, and your camping energy will be as smooth as your morning coffee.

Consider Starting Wattage and Running Wattage

When picking a portable generator for camping, make sure to consider the starting wattage and running wattage.

Starting wattage is the first burst of power needed to turn on devices. It's more than the continuous running power. For example, a 1000-watt microwave might need to double that at the start - around 2,000 watts.

The formula for Starting Wattage: Starting Wattage = Running Wattage × Starting Amps (usually twice the Running Wattage).

Running wattage is the steady power a device needs to work constantly. For a fridge, it could be 800 watts.

The formula for Running Wattage: Running wattage = Volts x Amps.

Figuring out both means your generator can handle devices starting up and running. Keep these formulas memorized for an excellent-sized camping portable generator.

Make sure your devices charge fast by using energy from the sun smartly. Use and enjoy the benefits of solar energy.

Tips for Choosing Portable Generators for Camping

Fuel Efficiency And Runtime

Picking a generator that uses fuel well and has a good run time is crucial when camping. It ensures you always have power without refueling often, making it more accessible during outdoor trips.

Portability and Ease of Use

Keeping a small and easy-to-use generator makes it simple to take it everywhere. It takes your load off and makes camp less complicated so you can enjoy outdoor life more.

Noise Considerations

Choosing a quiet generator is essential, especially for peaceful camping trips. When you buy a generator, think about how much noise it makes. Decibels (dB) are used to measure this. Portable generators make a sound level of 60-85 dB, but you should go for a quieter one. Opt for:

50–55 dB: Quiet, great for campsites.

56–60 dB: A little loud, pretty good outdoors, but not perfect for sleeping spots.

61–70 dB: Disturbing outdoors.

71+ dB: Too loud, not suitable for camping spots. Ensure the noise level is low by looking at decibel ratings for a quiet camping trip.

Budget and Cost Factors

Thinking about your budget when looking at the features helps you make an intelligent choice. Finding the right balance between cost and what you need lets you choose a cheap option. This way, your power needs can be met without spending money on things that aren't required.

Brand and Warranty

Picking a trusted brand like BLUETTI ensures the generator will work well and not disappoint you. Looking at warranties keeps your money safe. They ensure you get help if problems arise, making camping less stressful.

Final Thoughts

When selecting the best portable generator, consider your camping style, essential gadgets, and power requirements. Check the capacity, the kind of fuel it uses, and alternatives such as BLUETTI's. These large devices, designed for different purposes, easily attach to your camping gear. Remember that a generator is your outside energy assistance, not just any machine. Select the best and allow consistent energy to flow through your campsite.

The Challenges Of Winter Camping

Camping during wintertime is one of the exhilarating ways in which you can connect with nature. It is an excellent escape to break out of your comforting shell and enjoy the marvel of nature at the same time.

Of course, camping during winter is no walk in the park. Therefore, be sure to consider this aspect. Below are a few challenges that you may come across in the cold season:

Temperature Extremity

Extreme mercury drop is what we deal with during winter camping. Firstly, there should be sufficient insulation as staying warm comes first, and this includes suitable clothing layers and appropriate gear.

Snowy Underfoot

Setting up a camp, moving, and cooking can also become difficult in the snow. Snow may sometimes work for or against one, thus calling for knowledge on how to maneuver through such a condition.

Shorter Days

After all, winter brings with it short days that have no sunlight left for outdoor activities. It is important to plan your day right and provide yourself with an adequate source of lighting.

Frozen Gear

Tent zippers, water bottles, and other items can freeze in such conditions. It is essential to choose gear meant for winter or put into place efficient storage strategies.

Hyperthermia

Winter camping can expose you to hyperthermia if caution is not taken into consideration in maintaining the body temperature. The signs of hyperthermia include shaking, total exhaustion, lack of concentration, trembling hands, and short memory spells. If you feel that way when exposed to a cold environment, seek to warm up immediately. Take off any wet cloth and make yourself a hot beverage.

Is It Worth Buying A Portable Power Station For Winter Camping?

Lofty trees, the roars of a gushing stream, and a sunset-hued sky, surround you deep in the midst of nature. Your only source of solace when you get together with pals and tell tales beneath the boundless blanket of stars is the fizzing campfire. Now, visualize that your electrical items' dreadful empty battery beep abruptly interrupts this beautiful and calm scene. Yeah, it's not the best camping escapade. This is the point at which portable power stations, akin to outdoor saviors, suddenly become indispensable. They maintain the life of your electronics, the brightness of the lights, and the readiness of your Instagram-worthy experiences.

Worrying about the availability of an electrical outlet is not a restraint anymore while using a portable power station. These power gadgets, designed for effortless off-grid power, provide an array of conveniences that are hard to ignore.

Then again, what is a portable power station? Furthermore, what benefits will you get? Explore these ingenious and practical gadgets in this article, as well as how to pick the ideal one for your needs in terms of both price and performance.

What Is A Portable Power Station?

bluetti eb3a

Portable power station is an apparatus that builds up energy in a rechargeable battery or batteries. Unavailability of standard electricity source paves the way for the utilization of a portable power station as a source of energy.

It's easy to charge a portable power station, just like you would charge a phone. The majority of models offer a variety of charging choices. You may power them with a solar panel, electrical socket, or automobile charger, depending upon the model.

Because of the small size and ease of transportation, portable power stations complement camping and other outdoor activities. Usually, these power stations come with several plug-in outlets, namely DC, USB, and AC outlets. This implies that a wide range of gadgets, such as PCs, smartphones, lights, fans, and other tiny appliances, can be powered by them.

Benefits of Using a Portable Power Station for Camping

The perks of owning a portable power station are similar to a special handshake with Mother Nature herself; they range from illuminating your tent like a rockstar to maintaining devices for navigation. Let's explore the benefits that transform your camping trip from an ordinary expedition into an opulent journey.

Ease Of Portability

Lighter and small in design, portable power stations are simple to move and keep. In contrast to conventional generators that are large and hefty, portable power stations are made to fit into a compact carrying bag. They are therefore a smart and practical choice for road trips and camping.

Powering Devices Anytime

Picture yourself getting up in the morning to sounds of nature and making yourself a hot beverage without a campfire or propane camping stove. With the readily available electricity, there is no doubt that you will be able to inflate an air mattress or turn on a portable speaker. A common portable source for these purposes is a small portable power station that provides enough power to keep personal gadgets like smartphones or coffee machines, light bulbs, PCs, etc, charged and working.

Eco-friendliness And Hushed Operation

Portable power stations are extremely quiet, and thus, you do not have to worry about using them in the quietest of camping spots. These power stations are in contrast to conventional noisy generators. Plus, portable power stations are mostly battery-operated and hence do not have emissions of combustion gasses and other pollutants, as is the case with gasoline generators.

Low Maintenance

A portable power station poses no safety concerns and has minimum maintenance needs to power your camp appliances. It has little or no breakdown, so there are high chances of it being fully functional when you need it most. You have to replace the spark plugs as well as the fuel filter when utilizing a gasoline appliance. Fortunately, portable power options eliminate the hassle of having to be concerned with it. Just recharge the power station, and you're good to go!

How Do I Choose a Portable Power Station for Camping?

Portable units differ in their capacities, dimensions, and power output, among many others. The type of power station that you will opt for will rely on the amount of power you require and what you intend it to accomplish.

Keep the following factors in mind while selecting a portable power station that will suit your needs:

Battery Type

Most of these portable power stations utilize lithium-ion batteries, commonly used in making electronic equipment. However, business enterprises have begun using long lasting lithium iron phosphate batteries nonetheless. The batteries come with the added advantage that they can withstand high temperatures.

Battery Capacity

Multi-day camping calls for a powerful battery. For this reason, a unit of around 500 Wh to 1500 Wh would be good. Then you can cook and power your additional devices as well.

Day campers can rely on a smaller power station of about 160Wh, especially when charging smaller devices like lamps, light bulbs, cameras, tablets, phones, or other devices that may last only up to four hours.

Charging Cycles

There are two main categories of batteries for portable power stations: Lithium-ion and lithium-iron-phosphate batteries. A lithium-iron phosphate battery is designed to take up to 3000 charge/discharge cycles before starting to deteriorate. Meanwhile, a lithium-ion battery can be charged 500 times.

It is advisable to be on the lookout for portable stations fitted with a lithium-ion-phosphate battery. It will be durable and will give value for your bucks.

Camping Essentials: A Guide to Packing Right for Your Outdoor Adventure

How Do I Know What Size Portable Power Station I Need?

Your intended application will determine the exact size of the power plant that you require. To figure out what you need, you'll need to factor in your appliances and personal electronics in addition to doing a little math.

Evaluate Your Power Needs

Specify the devices that you will carry namely cellular phones, cameras, laptops etc. Ensure you check the power ratings per item, normally stated in watts or volts. Take a simple guess by adding up the total power usage.

Consider The Capacity

Watt-hour (Wh) is used to rate power stations. Higher Wh means more power. This makes sure that you keep all the juice, so to say, while away from home. For simple needs, target a power station at about 200Wh.

Factor In Solar Charging

Choose a power station suitable for solar charging if you intend to do so. In the absence of electrical connection, solar charging is vital in camping where you are planning to stay for some time.

Weight And Portability

Balance power capacity with portability. It is easier and advisable to carry light models when going camping. If, however, you put it into a backpack, consider its weight.

Runtime And Recharge Time

Search for information on how many days you can use your machines with the power station. See how long it takes to recharge – less time would be optimal if you have little chance of getting more power to it.

Additional Features

Some station packs come with optional extras like a USB port, charger outlet, and torch lamp. Go for specific features of your camping gadgets.

Specify the Type of Generator

When it comes to camping, a portable generator can be a great way to power your devices and appliances. But what type of generator should you choose? There are two main types of generators: inverter generators and conventional generators. Inverter generators are more expensive but are quieter, more fuel-efficient, and produce cleaner power. Conventional generators are less expensive but are louder, less fuel-efficient, and produce less clean power. And still have solar generators, which are very safe and noiseless. If you’re camping in a remote area, an inverter generator may be the better choice. If you’re camping in a more populated area, a solar generator may be more suitable. Consider your needs and budget when choosing the type of generator that’s right for you.

Everything that brings fun has some implications, too, and the same is the case with camping. It is undoubtedly an amazing experience, yet it poses some challenges at times, particularly when you want to keep your tent cool during those stifling summer days. A tent air conditioner can be your ultimate savior, but the question is, “How will you keep it powered off-grid?”

Conventional fuel and thermal generators can live up to the purpose, but their noise is definitely not something one wishes for. Additionally, they need a constant supply of fuel that could be a burden on your pocket, and their environmental impact is also a case in view.

Conversely, solar-powered generators can be a more feasible choice. Although their upfront cost may be relatively high, they can save you fuel costs in the long run. In addition, they work silently and have little environmental impact.

However, a critical question in this regard is whether solar-powered generators are capable of running the tent air conditioners and for how long. This article will comprehensively answer the lying question while discussing everything about tent air conditioners, including their types, wattage consumption, and whether you can use solar generator to power tent air conditioner.

Understanding Tent Air Conditioning

tent ac

Climate controllers are quite good choices to balance your tent’s temperature, but, unfortunately, they cannot block all the heat during those scorching days – this is exactly where tent air conditioning appears on the scene.

Tent air conditioning, as the name suggests, is a special type of conditioning that can optimize the temperature of your tent on intense hot days. Unlike conventional AC systems, tent air conditioners are relatively affordable and portable as well. They operate on batteries and eliminate the need for an electrical connection or outlet.

However, how much they cost can vary based on the features, capacity, and output power. Their typical starting price is about a few hundred dollars, but it can go up to a few thousand dollars based on their BTU rating, efficiency, warranty coverage, and more.

Types of Tent Air Conditioners

If you are looking for a unit particularly designed to be used as a tent air conditioner, your search will end in vain. There are no specific units as such. Yet certainly, there are products made for other purposes, but which are adaptable to be used in camping scenarios as well.

Let’s have a closer look at them.

Evaporative Coolers

Evaporative coolers are just fans and produce cooling using evaporation. Many of you will already be aware of what evaporation is – it can draw an incredible amount of heat and is perhaps the most energy-efficient way to keep things cool.

Evaporative coolers are low-powered, and you can have a good one within the range of $50~$100. But let’s make things clear – don’t expect them to work miracles, and remember, the water vapors need a way to escape, or else your tent will convert to a greenhouse.

Window Air Conditioners

Window air conditioners are very similar to the units that are used to keep small apartments cool. They are ideal tent air conditioning systems, operating on about 5,000 BTUs.

However, window air conditioners must have a ventilation spot that can fit the entire unit. That means if your tent lacks a pre-manufactured ventilation spot, you may have to make some extra effort to build the one.

Portable Air Conditioners

Portale ACs, as their name suggests, are easily transferable. Generally more powerful than window air conditioners, portable air conditioners run on 8,000 BTUs and can keep a space of up to 200 sq. feet cool.

Portable air conditioners also need ventilation. But instead of an entire ventilation spot like the window AC, they use a small hose point.

How Many Watts Does A Tent Air Conditioner Use?

The wattage requirement of tent air conditioners can fluctuate based on the AC's BTU rating, its size, and energy efficiency. The more powerful the air conditioner is, the higher the wattage requirement will be.

The cooling power of an air conditioner is typically measured in BTUs (British Thermal Units). In technical terms, the BTU rating and watts are related in the following way:

1 BTU = 0.293 W.

While low-powered evaporative coolers only use 200W to 400W, a window air conditioner needs a supply of 1,400W. Portable AC systems require even more power; a medium-size portable air conditioner uses around 2900W per hour.

Can Use Solar Powered Generator to Power Tent Air Conditioner?

tent

Solar-powered generators are portable and the most affordable solutions for both outdoor and indoor purposes. Not only can they power your tent's air conditioner but other appliances, too. Unlike conventional fuel generators, it does not emit harmful fumes or carbon monoxide. The solar panels collect and transform the sun's energy into usable electricity, which is then safely stored in the battery backup for later use.

However, the size of a solar generator matters a lot. While a small solar generator can effortlessly power your tent air conditioner for a few hours, you cannot run multiple appliances with it simultaneously. If you plug in additional appliances, it may lead to overloading and even damage your generator and appliances.

As a general thumb rule, a tent air conditioner with 8,000 BTUs needs less than a 1,500W generator. Likewise, a 14,000-BTU AC system requires a larger solar generator. Below is a table of minimum solar generator sizes for different tent air conditioner BTUs.

How to Choose the Right Solar-Powered Generator?

Not all solar-powered generators are created equal. They often vary in terms of capacity, power output, wattage, and other factors. These factors have been discussed below:

  • Surge Capacity: Most appliances, when they first kick in, require a power surge that is often twice or thrice the typical wattage requirement. For instance, a 1,200-watt tent AC would need around 2,400 W surge power when starting.
  • So, it is recommended to look for a solar generator that can accommodate both the surge and normal wattage requirement of your tent AC.

  • Output Ports: The number of output ports defines how many devices you can charge at the same time. Choose a solar-powered generator with multiple ports to keep 99% of your devices operational at all times.
  • Recharge Time: When selecting a solar-powered generator for your tent AC, ensure it has a shorter recharge time. Investing in a solar-powered generator with a pass-through charge facility can keep your tent air conditioner working even when the power station is getting charged.
  • Weight of Generator: Lastly, you should consider the total weight or dimensions of the solar generator. While the size and weight often depend on the capacity, we recommend selecting a four-wheel generator so it can be easily transferred from one place to another.

Of course, you will be putting the camping air conditioner in your camp, so measure the accurate dimensions of your camp to find the exact cooling capacity(BTUs that your AC should have. Once you are clear about your cooling needs, you can select an air conditioner suitable for your purpose.

It’s preferred to choose an air conditioner having slightly more capacity than your required capacity because this way, you can ensure better cooling. On the other hand, do not select a larger-than-needed unit, as it will consume more power.

    Materials of Camping Air Conditioner

Considering the fact that camping air conditioners are exposed to extensive humidity and rough environments, their build material should be focused keenly. The better build quality and material, the better durability and long life your air conditioner will have. Below is a breakdown of the materials used in the manufacture of camping air conditioners:

    Plastic Body

Having a plastic body air conditioner will save it from rust, causing it to last longer. The plastic being used for constructing the AC external layer must be of industrial grade. There are two factors to consider: one is ruggedness, and another is lightweight.

    Metal Components

The inner parts of a camping air conditioner need to be made up of metal for robust functioning. The metal used for making the condenser coils and fan blades is corrosion-free, so even if the humidity of the surroundings makes its way to the inside parts of the camping air conditioner, it can still be saved from being damaged.

    Weather-resistant Coating

To protect the unit from external weather conditions like temperature fluctuations, storms, rain, and humidity, it is coated with weather-resistant chemicals. They help to add durability and reliability to the camping air conditioners and it’s parts.

Features and Function of Camping Air Conditioner

    camping

All the fun enthusiasts out there do not look for more features in a camping air conditioner; in fact, they focus on the quality of the features. For your guidance, here are some of the most crucial features you must consider before purchasing a camping AC.

    Temperature Control

Temperature control in a must, as you’ll be camping at different places with different temperatures. So you can conveniently set the desired cooling temperature.

    Fan Speed Control

The feature to control fan speed enhances the experience by offering more control over air flow.

    Air Purification

During camping, you are exposed to numerous allergens and dust, yet by having an air purification feature in your camping air conditioner, you can clean your camp environment.

    Dehumidification

To protect yourself from the unhealthy humid environment, you need to have a dehumidifier in your camping air conditioner.

    Efficiency of Camping Air Conditioner

Of course as a camper, away from your home, you would prefer a camping air conditioner that requires less power consumption, and an energy efficient air conditioner can do that. The fun part is, you don’t have to spend more and still you’ll get a cooling and chilled environment to rest.

Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) helps to determine the efficiency of an air conditioner. Ideally an EER of above 8.5 rating is better.

    Timer

The timer is often disregarded, but it's an essential feature, especially for campers. It reduces the hassle of turning the AC on and off. You can set the timer when hiking or fishing and return to a chilled camp. The timer function also reduces your energy consumption.

    Brand and Price

When it comes to brands and pricing, there's some confusion. Not all brands rip you off in the name of a logo. Some brands value their customers and offer reliable and quality products. When investing in an air conditioner, you should consider brand value. You may have to pay extra, but it'll be worth it.

Established brands like BLUETTI offer good post-sale customer care and have wide service networks. Besides that, warranty coverage and claims are better and more manageable with established brands than with newer ones.

Can I Use a Camping Air Conditioner Without Electricity?

Yes, you can. But how? When you do not have the grid supply during your adventurous trip, you’ll need to add in some alternate power supply. This can be battery power, a generator, or a solar energy system. Considering the pros and cons of each power option, you can use any of them to supply power to your camping air conditioner and enjoy your trip.

Confused about how will you use the camping air conditioner without electricity? Well, here’s your answer

    Battery Power

Camping air conditioners are usually DC powered to make it easier for campers to use them. Battery power can supply enough power to run a 12-volt DC air conditioner, but you’ll also need an inverter for converting the battery’s AC power to DC.

    Solar Energy

Solar energy is a good and reliable power source when you are not at your home. But for using solar energy you’ll require solar panels, battery, inverter, and converter. Once you arrange all these, you are ready to turn on your camping air conditioner.

    Conventional Generators

Generators are also a good source to provide enough power to run your camping air conditioner. But you’ll need to buy a generator that fits with the required power of your AC. If you travel in your RV, then having a generator can also help to supply power to other devices and appliances.

Can I Use Solar-Powered Generators to Power Camping Air Conditioner?

Solar-powered generators are better than conventional fuel generators as they save on cost, do not ruin your environment, and have free solar energy to run for as long as you want. Plus, what can be better than reducing your carbon footprint?

Here's how a solar generator kit powers a camping air conditioner.

    • Solar Panel

Solar panels contain specialized cells that capture solar energy from sunlight and convert it to DC. Different solar panels have different conversion rates, so be sure to buy solar panels that offer a high conversion rate for maximum power.

    • Battery Packs

To store the solar energy, you’ll need a battery, and most of the solar generator kits have battery packs. When solar energy isn’t available at night or due to weather conditions, this stored power helps power your camping air conditioner.

    • Inverter/Converter

The current produced by a solar generator needs to be converted to AC or DC, depending on your camping air conditioner. The inverter and converter do the job for you professionally. From the different types of inverters available, it’s suggested to choose the pure sine wave inverters.

That’s why you need to think about an RV generator, yet choosing it might be a bit of a hustle. However, with today’s guide, you’ll have a detailed outlook on the types of RV generators you need and more.

    So, let’s explore!

    Types of RV Generators

Depending on the primary function, RV generators can have three categories. Knowing these types, you’ll recognize what type of generator you should get for your RV.

    bluetti

    1. Built-in Generators

When you buy an RV, you’ll see that many RVs already have a built-in generator in them, as RV manufacturers know that’s a crucial thing to have in an RV. However, these generators are usually limited in their capacity and may not offer a more extended and heavier power output to you. RVers prefer not to rely on these built-in generators and add external sources to fulfill their power needs.

    2. Conventional Generators

Conventional generators are called so because they operate on diesel and gasoline and are the most common type of generators used in RVs. These generators are primarily portable and manufactured especially to fit in RVs. Do not mix these generators with conventional home-use generators, as they are less portable than the ones used in RVs. Large amounts of fuel sourcing, cost, and noise issues make these generators a less common choice for most RVers nowadays, as more reliable and cost-effective options are available in the market.

    3. Solar Generators

Solar generators aren’t an entirely new concept to us yet; it’s a recently growing trend among RVers because of the multitude of benefits they offer. Saving thousands of dollars on cost and offering sustainable power, these generators are saving the environment. Having a solar generator in your RV means an endless power source without additional effort.

What Kind of RV Generator is Your Best Choice?

A single type of generator can’t be declared the best because it all depends on your needs. Your energy requirements, devices, and usage time determine which generator would be perfect for you. So let’s explore some of the most crucial factors required to know which RC generator deserves to be your best choice.

    1. RV Size

If your RV size is smaller, you should go for a portable power option. Space-saving may be your key consideration. For that, a portable solar or fuel-based generator will work well. In case you have a bigger RV, then the portable generator's capacity will not be enough. You can consider full-fledged solar generator kits or high-capacity diesel generators.

    2. Power Requirements

Your power requirements can have a significant impact on your choice. The higher your power requirements grow, the more the portable generator type becomes irrelevant. The most suitable RV generator types for high power requirements are solar generators and fuel-based generators. Moreover, the size of solar generator can also increase as you add more solar panels.

    3. Noise-level

Usually, RVers stay in national parks and camping areas where generator noise can be a problem. There may also be restrictions on fuel-based generators, considering environmental concerns and high noise levels. In such a case, solar generators are the best choice.

    4. Fuel Type and Availability

Solar generators stand as champions here. However, when you compare gasoline and diesel, diesel tends to provide more efficiency, and it's quieter. RVers prefer diesel generators when they skip the solar generator option. You can also consider fuel availability, which fuel is more readily available to you.

As a recommendation, the best choice for RV generators is a solar generator kit. BLUETTI is a market leader providing the best solar generators to RVers. Their products are advanced, efficient, and have hi-tech features.

You may use an external source or a car battery to power the unit, but in any case, it’s better to choose a portable AC that needs less power. The power consumption is measured in watts; a smaller unit designed for a car will need around 200 to 600 watts.

These units are more cost-effective and energy-efficient as they quickly work on a 12-volt DS supply from a car battery or with a small external source. But as the size of the portable AC will increase, the need for power will also increase, making it difficult for you to deal with it.

Power Supply and Adapters of Portable AC

The power supply, whether it's your car's battery or a portable power source, must match the power requirements of the portable car AC. A power source that is unmatched or insufficient wouldn't let your car AC work well, causing distress to you. Apart from the power supply, the power adaptors also play an essential role. The power adapters change power supply ratings to match the unit's requirements, like the one you use to charge laptops.

Usually, you'll have to add an external portable power source for powering the car AC because a car battery won't be enough. You may have to spend extra money adding up external power sources like batteries, solar panels, etc.

Temperature and Humidity Control of Portable AC

Maintaining a pleasant environment inside the car is more accessible with temperature and humidity control. Your comfort can be enhanced with adjustable temperature settings, fan speeds, and dehumidifying functions. This will not be a problem since most advanced units have these features.

Thermostats aren't just an excellent feature; they also serve a practical purpose. The energy consumption of your car can be significantly reduced with an efficient temperature control system. For those using the car battery to run their portable AC, this feature is much needed. It'll save you a lot of battery capacity.

    Portability and Installation

    car

Do not choose a heavy and colossal car AC because you need to add it to your car, and of course, cars are already compacted enough. Focus on portability because then you can easily use the car AC on the go without having space issues.

Although installation isn’t much of a consideration for portable units, they don’t need to be fixed in the car. Go for portable ACs that are simple to set up and don't require complex mounting or modifications to install and operate. Currently, portable AC units having a hand-carry style are pretty popular.

    Energy Efficiency and Noise Levels

Energy efficiency means your car AC will need less power to provide a soothing and cooling car environment. You can save a lot of dollars by keeping it accessible for your pocket, too. It'll reduce your energy consumption, save you money, and slow the depletion of the power source. You can check the efficiency by viewing the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) in the specifications section. An 8.5 and above rating is good enough.

AC units often sound unpleasant and can be distracting when you're driving. You should opt for a model with low noise levels. The decibel ratings are mentioned in the unit's specification; choose a model with lower ratings. Higher noise levels take away the peace from your journey.

    Budget and Price Comparison

The portable AC market is quite saturated; there are many options. If you do extensive market research, getting an affordable and efficient unit is not a problem. Keep a budget range in mind before you explore the market. Try not to overspend and go about your requirements. If you want an idea of prices, visit online stores.

The best way to compare prices is by comparing features, energy efficiency, and cooling capacity. The expensive units are not always the best; it's better to compare your options.

    Brands and Warranties

Ready to make your purchase? Don't miss out on brands and warranties. Go for renowned and reliable brands having extensive service networks and post-sales customer care. Portable car ACs can be an expensive investment; opting for newer or unreliable brands to save some bucks is not a good decision.

Besides that, check warranties offered by different brands. A more extended warranty means a reliable and efficient unit. Also, check the warranty coverage before making the final decision. Considering all these factors will make your purchase the best buy.

Power Station to Power Your Car Adventures

Car battery is least preferred to power an AC unit. It's just not enough and unreliable, and you would not like to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with a low battery.

What alternate options do you have to power portable AC for the car? That’s where BLUETTI comes into the picture. It offers ultimate power solutions with next-level portability and efficiency.

How about getting your hot coffee in front of a marvelous waterfall? Well, traveling in an RV and having solar generators let you enjoy the trips at their best. You have enough power to connect with your friends, have unique foods and chilled drinks, and even watch Netflix at night.

Solar generators are the easiest way to get your RV fully equipped with modernity, as you can power up anything in your RV. Yet, before you enjoy an outstanding experience in your RV during your vacations in the center of a natural spot, you’ll need to choose an RV solar generator. But you don’t need to panic because here you are about to unveil choosing the best solar generator for spicing up your adventures.

What are the different types of generators for RVs?

    bluetti eb3a

When it comes to adding a generator to your RV, there are three categories available to you. But the game doesn’t end here, as you can get many more options within each category.

    1. Built-in Generators

Most of the RVs have a built-in generator to power up your devices, yet these generators sometimes prove to be an inefficient source. However, checking out the detailed features of the RV before buying it may help you to get the one with a high-powered generator. Having their fuel tank connected to the RV’s main tank, these generators operate on the same fuel as the RV. This includes gasoline, diesel, and propane.

    2. Portable Generators

Portable generators are an easy-to-carry source of power for your RV, so if you get out of power from your built-in generator, you can use this one. These generators can range in output voltages, allowing you to choose the one that’s enough for your power needs. The most prominent feature of these generators is that they do not make heavy sounds that ruin your fun, and on top of that, they are more efficient.

      3. Solar Generators

Imagine you have to go on a fifteen-day journey in between the mountains on your RV. Can you carry enough fuel for your RV and generator? Of course, it’s not possible at all. That’s where solar generators jump in and save the day. Solar generators are a one-time purchase, and you can recharge them countless times without adding extra fuel. That’s what makes these solar generators more common among RVers.

Essential Considerations When Buying Solar Generators for RVs

        rv

You can’t choose just any solar generator unless it suits your power needs. To ensure you’re buying the right solar generator for your RV, you’ll need to take care of a few things.

        1. Power Output

Consider the output of the solar generator you’re about to buy because it should be enough to not only light up your day but also charge the backup batteries for the night. But how to do this? You need to find the total power consumption in watt-hours depending on what appliances you’ll need to power with the solar generator. But don’t forget to add up the battery charging you need for the night.

After knowing the total watt-hours, you must add enough solar panels to get this output for your RV. To have a rough estimate, a single solar panel of 350-400 watts will produce 1.5kWh daily. This way, you can quickly know how many solar panels you need to add in.

          2. Battery Capacity & Type

At night, when there is no solar energy available directly, these batteries will help you fulfill the power usage all night. This makes battery capacity an essential factor. You must know your power needs at night to get the relatable battery for your RV. Sometimes, you may even encounter bad weather, which means your battery should have enough charge to at least recharge your mobile and other small devices, even the next day.

Battery type determines how efficiently the batteries will perform over time. Lithium-ion and lead-acid are two common battery types used with solar generators. Lithium-ion batteries are relatively efficient and long-lasting. You can go for more advanced options like LiFePO4 battery packs, but the costs will be higher.

            3. Inverter Rating & Type

An inverter is a device that converts the direct current from a solar generator to an alternate current to make it usable for your devices. To choose an inverter, you need to know whether you need one with a surge rating or a continuous rating. If your power need is heavier, your inverter will need a surge rating (in watts).

There are various inverter types available, and if you want to have the better one, then choose the sine wave inverter and skip choosing a modified sine wave inverter. The AC output from a modified sine wave inverter is low quality and can affect sensitive electronics like mobile phones and laptops.

              4. Portability and size

Space is a big concern for RVers as you are already settling up so many things in less space. That's why portability should be ignored when purchasing a solar generator. To save up some extra space, select a generator that’s less heavy and takes less space. You can also use a solar generator from the RV as a portable power source; choosing a portable option is better.

The solar panels usually take up more space, but you can buy foldable panels. Foldable solar panels are not hard to find today. They will save a lot of space and be convenient to use. One last thing to consider is connections; electrical cords can be a headache to manage. Choose a solar generator with a plug-in connection rather than a stiff wire.

What Size of a Solar Generator Do You Need?

You will need to determine the size of your solar generator based on your power needs. As your power needs increase, the size will also increase. You may only need a single panel and battery if you require a solar generator to charge a few devices and run small appliances.

However, the solar generator will be more significant if you want to power an entire RV, including heavy appliances like refrigerators and air conditioners. It will include several panels and battery packs.

Here are three solar generator sizes to give you a fair idea.

best solar generator for camper van

Today, over 11% of U.S. households own a recreational vehicle (RV). In fact, a whopping 40 million Americans go RVing regularly.

In the past, most RV owners carried gas generators onboard, especially those who knew they were travelling to places without power hookups.

The issue with gas generators has always been twofold, noise and pollution.

Gas generators can emit up to 100 dB. That is the equivalent of noise coming from a construction site.

Next is the pollution. According to California Air Resources Board, the average portable gasoline generator operating at a load of 1.8 kW an hour emits as much pollution as driving a passenger vehicle for 150 miles would.

It is safe to say that RV owners who choose to camp in the middle of pristine wilderness generally try to avoid these two inconveniences in particular, noise and pollution.

But, over the last decade, solar power has been at the forefront of innovation, and handy new machines such as solar generators have been developed.

These devices do not emit sound nor pollution and can be recharged for free using the sun.

While solar generators are a viable alternative to their gas cousins, there are some operating differences that RV owners will need to take into consideration.

Differences Between A Gas & Solar Generator

                best solar generator for rv

There are a few main difference between the two technologies, those are:

                • Noise emission
                • Fuel type
                • Pollution emission

                Noise emission

Gas generators make mechanical noise because of the following components, the engine, cooling fan and alternator. All of these components are needed in order to convert fuel to electricity.

Solar generators on the other hand use the photovoltaic effect to convert sunlight into electricity. The components needed for this process emit no sound.

                Fuel type

Gas generators can be powered by gasoline, diesel, propane or natural gas. It needs to constantly burn this fuel in order to produce electricity. If this fuel runs out, your gas generator stops working, just like a car would if it ran out of fuel.

Solar generators also need a "fuel" in order to operate. However, this fuel comes in the form of sunlight. With it, the photovoltaic effect can take place and electricity created.

                Pollution emission

Pollution emission is the direct result of the fuel type used. Gas generators need to burn their fuel in order to produce electricity. The biproduct released from this process results in smog-forming pollution.

Solar generators do not need to burn anything to produce electricity. Instead the conversion process happens at the molecular level.

How To Choose The Correct Solar Generator For Your RV

While the benefits of a solar generator are quite apparent, it must be noted that they do function differently than gas generators, and because of this, some adjustments in how you RV must be taken into consideration.

For example, solar generators store energy collected from the sun. They do not create energy themselves. This stored energy can be used whenever you like. At night, the morning or even on an incredibly cold snowy day.

However, once this stored energy is used, you will need to convert more sunlight into stored electrical energy to power anymore appliances.

For this, you will need the sun.

This means if you run out of energy at night, you will need to wait until the following morning before you can essentially recharge your solar generator. This is why sizing your solar generator correctly is so important.

Solar generators are sized based on your energy requirements, if you do this correctly, you will never run out of electricity when ou need it.

How To Size A Solar Generator For Your RV

The easiest way to size a solar generator is to make a list of the appliances you would like to power, their wattage rating and the total time you would like to use them for.

                See the example below:

Appliance Wattage Usage Time Energy Used
                X5 LED Lights 25 5 125 Wh
                Portable Fridge 200 3 600 Wh
                Fan 10 5 50 Wh
                Laptop 60 2 120 Wh
                Ice Maker 120 1 120 Wh
                415 W N/A 1015 Wh

When you are done you will have a list like this. Note that to calculate the energy used all you have to do is multiply your appliances wattage by the time you will use it. That will give you energy used in Wh.

Now, all you need to do is make sure that you choose a solar generator that is rated a a minimum of 500 W and 1100 Wh (you always want to over size slightly).

By doing this you will be sure you will not run our of electricity when you need it.

what is best solar power generator for a rv

Of course you could get an even bigger solar generator for example our AC200P, which is rated at 2000 W and 2000 Wh.

This may end up being a smart solution because remember you will need to factor in recharge times. Perhaps you will only want to recharge your generator every second camping day. By sizing above your needs you may only need to recharge every fourth day (depending on your energy using habits).

                Final Thoughts

Solar generators are the perfect energy solution for RVers who want to be more friendly to their immediate environment and wan to escape the overbearing noise that gas generators produce.

When it comes to sizing your solar generator the sky really is the limit, we have some modular systems such as the AC300 which can store over 18,000 Wh.

Goodluck running out of electricity with this one.

What Is a Portable Solar Power System?

A portable solar power system is essentially a solar generator that makes use of portable solar panels to charge a battery. The electricity generated can be used to operate or charge other electronic devices through USB ports and standard outlets.

As global warming and climate change wreaks havoc on Earth, leading to extreme weather, rising temperatures, melting glaciers, and more, we have to search for a sustainable alternative for more aspects of our life, including camping. This encompasses switching to using solar power stations to produce and store green, renewable energy for our backup power requirements.

A portable solar power station doesn’t just produce renewable and reliable electricity from sunlight but also lowers the emissions of harmful greenhouse gases emitted by traditional energy backup systems. Because of this, manufacturers are trying to enhance solar backup generators and make them more reliable than their fuel or gas-powered counterparts.

Camping Gear You Can Power Using Portable Solar Power Systems

Camping is the best way to escape the distractions and tribulations of modern life. However, unless you are camping to learn some survival skills, you probably don’t want to go into the wilderness without some basic creature comforts. Suppose your entire goal is to get some much-needed rest. In that case, there is a lot of innovative and modern gear that you can use to make your camping experience more comfortable and safer.

Spending time out in the wilderness does come with some inherent risks, and you need to be prepared for the conditions that are going to come at you. Depending on how extreme the conditions are, having the right gear can save your life when it comes to an emergency.

That said, we have prepared a list of some essential camping gear that you can power using a portable solar generator.

                1. Flashlight

No camping trip is complete without a campfire. However, a campfire can only do so much. At the most basic level, a campfire is not dependable as rain or strong wind can easily blow it out. It’s also stationary, which means you will not be able to use it to move around if you wish to walk around in the dark. Keeping this in mind, we strongly recommend you invest in a top-rated camping lantern for camping adventures that will keep you safe and prove to be easy to recharge.

                2. Rechargeable Lighter

A rechargeable lighter such as this one by Lafageit helps to ensure that your flame never dies out. Instead of conventional fuels such as butane gas or kerosene oil, this lighter is charged through a USB cable that you can connect with your portable solar power station to produce a spark. It can be lit around 150 to 200 on a full battery charge.

Since the lighter is waterproof, it can work even when it’s fully submerged. This means you won’t have to worry about dropping it in the lake or getting wet in the rain.

The light is also made using silicone rubber for additional durability, perfect for stuffing in your bag before your next camping trip.

                3. Water Kettle

Water is essential for surviving in the wild. However, you cannot trust natural water sources as they might contain nasty bacteria that can make you sick. The simplest way to ensure that water is safe for drinking is to boil it, but that requires starting a fire which isn’t always possible.

You might also want to drink hot beverages to keep you warm as you are out in the open. Either way, you will need hot water, and a portable electric kettle is the best way to get that.

You can use this portable electric kettle by Sekaer to boil water whenever you need it. It can get the job done quickly and easily. Note that this kettle isn’t rechargeable. However, you can power it with your portable solar power system by using an AC to USB adapter.

                4. Portable Shower

Camping is surely one of the best life experiences. However, it can come with numerous hygiene-related problems, especially with several individuals around the same spot. If your campground does not have the facility of a shower, you can get a portable shower to keep yourself clean.

A lot of portable shower devices have rechargeable batteries that you can easily plug into your portable solar power system through a USB connection.

                5. Camp Stove

While it’s possible to cook on an open fire, it’s generally a lot more trouble than it’s worth. In addition, campfires are not allowed in several locations, especially west of the Rockies, where there is a perpetual threat of wildfires. This means that you need to carry along a camp stove whenever you go camping.

The good news is that you can easily use camping solar energy from your portable solar power station to power your stove and cook your meals.

                6. Mini Fan

You are going to need the sun to run your portable solar power system. However, when the sun shines too brightly, it’s going to heat the campsite and your tent. A mini fan powered by your camping solar panels and solar generator can help mitigate such discomfort. You can easily run a fan using the AC power output, which is around 40W in most solar generators.

                Best Portable Generator for Camping

Benefits of Using Portable Solar Power Systems for Camping

Portable solar power systems are becoming increasingly popular amongst campers and adventure-seekers. Here are some reasons why you should use them the next time you go camping.

                1. Free Fuel

One of the biggest benefits of portable solar power systems for camping is the money you will be saving on fuel. Using readily available and free energy from the sun effectively eliminates the need to buy gas that’s used to run conventional power generators, which is a huge recurring cost given the ever-increasing global fuel prices. In addition, solar power isn’t subject to changing fuel prices, which means the operating costs are quite steady after purchase.

In many areas, solar power is more easily available than diesel or petrol, meaning you’ll have a lower chance of exhausting your fuel supply. This feature is quite useful, particularly during camping, as you don’t have to carry gas around to charge your power station.

                2. Renewable and Clean Energy

Portable solar power stations are also a much environmentally friendlier and cleaner alternative to gas-powered generators. These devices work on a renewable energy source, i.e., solar energy, which means you don’t have to worry about the environmental impact of using gasoline to power your camping gear. Additionally, solar generators don’t release any harmful pollutants when generating electricity. This way, you can rest assured that your camping trip isn’t harming the planet in any form or shape.

                3. Noise-Free and Low Maintenance Requirements

Compared to gas or fuel-powered generators, solar generators don’t contain any moving parts. This has two key benefits. Firstly, solar generators are quiet and don’t need frequent maintenance.

If you’re purchasing a solar generator for camping, you don’t have to worry about disturbing the surroundings by powering your RV or firing up a generator.

There are also minimal chances of a portable solar power system randomly breaking down in the middle of your adventure. Thus, you can stay confident that your camping trip won’t be interrupted by random issues.

                4. Lower Operational Costs

With every machine, you have to factor in the cost of consumables to assess the operating costs. Compared to gas-powered generators, you don’t need to purchase and change engine oil for solar generators, which significantly lowers their operating costs.

Solar-powered generators also have a substantially larger lifespan. This means you will have to spend a lot less on replacements and repairs. Plus, you don’t have to buy oil to run the generators, which further reduces the operating costs of these units.

What to Look for In Portable Solar Power Systems for Camping Solar Power?

Keep in mind that portable solar systems are available in a vast range of sizes. The capacity of the battery is going to be mentioned by the manufacturer in Watt-Hours on the device, and you’ll need to check this before purchasing one for your requirements. Usually, the battery sizes are much smaller compared to regular power systems. However, there are a number of sizes that you can pick from. Thus, you can easily choose a battery size that meets your needs.

According to a study done by KOA, in 2021, more than 93.8 million North American households considered themselves campers.

There is no question about it, camping has become an incredibly popular outdoor activity for a large majority of Americans.

With that being said, many newbie campers and even experienced outdoorsman often forget to pack some essential items that would make their trip that much more enjoyable.

In this article we will highlight 8 things everybody should bring on a weekend camping trip.

8 Things To Bring On A Weekend Camping Trip

                1. Tent

Without one, you will have a tough time sleeping outside at the whim of the elements. Choosing a tent should be a well thought out process. Size really matters here, especially if you take into consideration logistics and season you aim to go camping in. If you are a solo camper, pack a tent that accommodates you and you alone. This will ensure that your load is as light as possible.

                2. Toiletries

This item should be a no brainer, without any toiletries you will struggle to stay clean. This is largely due to the fact that most camp sites do not offer any toiletries. Make sure you do not forget items like your toothbrush, tooth paste, towel, sanitary pad, biodegradable soap, and any other toiletries you may need.

                3. Sleeping Bag

Your sleeping bag doubles up as your blanket whilst out camping. Except, it is like 500x warmer. Important note, make sure you choose the right type of sleeping bag for the season. There is nothing worse than camping in a cold location with the wrong type of sleeping bag, the cold will literally pierce through it. "Season one - ideal for warm summer nights, typically 5°C or above. Season two - cooler evenings in spring/summer, temperatures from around 0 to 5°C. Season three – for anywhere between 0 to -5°C, a cold night but no frost. Season four – best suited for the winter months, suitable for temperatures as low as -10°C." - Campingtheforest.co.uk

                4. Solar Generator

bluetti solar generator at camping site

Albeit a luxury item and non critical when it comes to camping trips, solar generators can be quite a useful piece of technology to have with you on a weekend in the outdoors. This is especially true should you aim to camp in a location without any municipality electricity. Solar generators can be used to power your fridge, or recharge your phones and laptops. In fact, solar generators have many uses!

                5. Portable Solar Panels

Solar panels are another essential tools for camping. Using electricity in the wild is a headache. If you don't want to worry about the remaining power of your smartphone all the time, solar panels can solve this problem. During the day, you only need to place the solar panels under the sunlight, and the solar panels will convert solar energy into electricity to charge your devices.

It should be noted that solar panels can only generate electricity, not store electricity. That is, solar panels cannot provide electricity for your lights during the night. Therefore, we usually recommend using solar panels and power stations together.

                6. Camping Lamps

It is really a beautiful moment when sitting under the stars and beholding the beauty of the night sky. If the moonlight is good, it will give you some lighting. But it is better to have a lamp. Of course, you can use the flash of your phone to illuminate your surroundings, but a lamp or flashlight is also necessary especially for those more complex tasks like setting up a tent or cooking.

                7. Food and Water:

When camping, food is always the most important you should prepare, so getting a ketogenic meal or snack that lasts for up to a week is very important. Remember, you need fresh or dried food such as fish, crab, non-perishable food or canned food. Water is necessary to sustain life. Any camper needs water during the day or night, especially after strenuous exercise. The water in ponds and swamps contains a lot of bacteria, so you must bring plenty of water or heat the water before drinking.

                8. Refrigerator

If your camp site does not have any form of refrigeration, then a camping fridge is highly recommended for a weekend camping trip. Food is often perishable, you do not want to risk getting ill during a camping trip, trust us, it is not a fun experience. According to both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, refrigeration of food should be at 40° F or below.

keeping warm while out camping in winter

According to the National Weather Service, if you're standing outside, with no warm clothes on, in zero-degree weather with a wind speed averaging around 15 mph (24 kph), you've got a measly half hour before you're in danger of frostbite!

All this may sound a bit extreme and depending on your trip it may very well be.

The main aim of this article is to prepare and inform you with the right knowledge so that you are better equipped at keeping warm while out camping in winter.

10 Tips To Keeping Warm While Camping In Winter

                1. Layer up before you get cold.

As soon as you notice the temperature starting to drop, get into your tent and find some extra clothes to put on. You need to layer up. The reason wearing multiple thin layers keeps you warmer than a single thicker layer is because warm air is essentially trapped between the layers, acting as an insulator.

                2. Bring a hot water bottle with you.

We are sure at some point in your life (probably when you were a kid), you've experienced the heat bearing joys a hot water bottle can bring. Just because you are going camping doesn't mean you should leave the old dusty hot water bottle at home. Bring it with you! Make sure you also bring a pot to boil water in.

                3. Sleeping bag liners are a must.

Look into investing in some silk sleeping bag liners, they are said to be even warmer than the traditional fleece ones. However, some say that silk liners can be somewhat less durable than fleece.

                4. Don't use a massive tent.

getting cold whilst camping is not fun

If you plan on keeping warm in a tent, then please do not use this thing. Unless you are a family of say, 10 people. If you are just a couple, small family or solo camper, consider downsizing your tent. If there is less open space, your tent will warm up faster.

                5. Use the right sleeping bag.

We cannot stress this enough, choosing the right sleeping bag will be one of the best investments you'll ever make. It'll literally mean the difference between freezing and staying warm in your tent. You are looking for a 3 season sleeping bag (unless you are camping in the North Pole). It may be tempting to buy a cheap sleeping bag at first and just put an extra duvet on top. Trust us, it won't keep you warmer than technical sleeping bags designed for cold weather would.

                Bag Type Temperature Rating (°F)
                Summer Season +30° and higher
                3-Season +15° to +30°
                Winter +15° and lower

                6. Avoid going to bed cold.

staying warm while camping in winter

If you get into your sleeping bag cold, keeping warm naturally becomes more tedious. The body takes time to heat up once it's cold. This is time you may spend losing sleep hours. Before slipping into your sleeping bag, drink something warm, do some star jumps, run to the bathroom or alternatively do some ridiculous zen jumps to get your core body temperature up.

                7. Insulate from the ground up.

Use a tent carpet or some rugs to layer underneath your sleeping area. This will do two things, 1. it makes the ground that much softer ;) and 2. it will stop cold from leaching through the ground into your tent.

                8. Bring extra blankets.

If you can afford the extra weight and have the extra space then by all means bring along some extra blankets. There's nothing cosier than stuffing your tent full of blankets and pillows, add in some fairy lights and badabing badaboom you're a legit glamper.

                9. Use a portable heater (with extreme caution).

Using a portable heater is of course one of the more effective ways to staying warm in a tent. We do not recommend keeping these heaters on while you sleep, rather turn them off just to be safe. Make sure you follow the manufacturer's guidelines to insure your safety while using these products.

                10. Keep your tent ventilated.

Most people don't realize that you need to keep your tent ventilated. The heat from your body and breath can cause condensation to form inside your tent. Condensation = dampness = chilliness. By ventilating your tent properly you can avoid condensation from building up.

                Final thoughts

Staying warm while camping in winter is pretty much critical to the overall enjoyment of your trip.

Trust us, getting cold whilst camping is not fun, we highly recommend you take the necessary steps in order to insure optimal body temperatures.

One tip we never mentioned on our list would be to create a fire (should the elements allow you too). A fire will help warm up the immediate surroundings but is unlikely to stretch far and wide.

Therefore we recommend using a combination of the tips we listed for the best results.

                food in camping trip

Camping in the outdoors is becoming increasingly popular year by year.

In fact, over 50 million Americans above the age of six years old went camping in 2020 and 2021.

For those who find themselves camping at sites without electricity though all have the same question.

What is the best way to keep food cold while camping without electricity?

If you search the internet you are likely to find a plethora of "camping hacks" all promising to keep your food cold during your camping trip.

In our opinion however, there is only one real way, and that is to use a portable refrigerator.

But how would you power this refrigerator without electricity?

                Keep reading to find out.

Why is it important to keep food cold?

Simply put, refrigeration slows bacterial growth. Bacteria can be found pretty everywhere in nature. They are in the soil, water, air and of course, in the foods we eat.

Bacteria thrive in favourable environments. That sort of environment has nutrients, moisture, and ideal temperatures.

If all the above criteria are met, bacteria grows rapidly, increasing in numbers to the point where some types of bacteria can cause illness.

Bacteria favour temperatures ranging between 40 °F and 140 °F. If these temperatures are met, some bacteria double in number in as little as 20 minutes.

Keeping food below 40 °F will protect most foods from experiencing bacteria growth.

What illness can foods that aren't kept cool cause?

Common symptoms of ingesting food borne diseases are:

                • Nausea
                • Vomiting
                • Stomach cramps
                • Diarrhoea

None of which you want to experience while out on a camping trip.

How do you refrigerate food when camping?

take food out in camping trip

Now that we understand the importance of refrigerating food, the question is, how do we do that on a camping trip without electricity?

The answer is simple, create your own.

The easiest way for campers to do this, is to take advantage of the photovoltaic effect via the use of solar panels.

How do solar panels create electricity?

In order for the photovoltaic effect to take place, a solar cell (or panel) needs to be exposed to photons (which is simply small bundles of electromagnetic radiation).

These photons are actually absorbed by the solar cell through two different types of semiconductors. The p-type and the n-type. These two semiconductors are joined together to create a p-n junction.

When you join these two types of semiconductors, you allow an electric field to be formed in the region of the junction as electrons move to the positive p-side and holes move to the negative n-side.

This electric field forces negatively charged particles to move in only one direction, the opposite for positively charged particles.

This whole process eventually results in electricity production.

However, solar panels generate DC electricity, and most appliances require AC electricity.

One way to get around this is by using a solar generator to power your appliances.

How to use a portable solar generator to power your refrigerator?

Solar generators come with various AC outputs that allow you to plug in appliances as you see fit.

Thus, all you would need to do in this scenario is plug your portable refrigerator into your solar generator.

This will provide your fridge with AC electricity. The BLUETTI AC200P solar generator for example, will be able to power a 70 W car fridge for roughly 20 hours.

But what happens once your solar generator has run out of power?

Well, this is where your solar panels come into play. What you can do is connect your solar panels to your solar generator, this will essentially keep your solar generator charged.

As long is your camping spot has sun exposure, your solar generator + solar panels should be able to keep your refrigerator powered at all times.

This means your food will stay cool throughout the duration of your camping trip.

Which solar generators are best for keeping food cold?

Below we have created a list that indicates the best solar generators you can use as an energy source to keep your food cold while camping.

The rule of thumb here is, the more capacity a solar generator has, the longer it will be able to power your appliance for. If you aim to go on long camping trips, we recommend bringing along a larger solar generator to accommodate all your energy needs.

                Final thoughts

Thanks to advanced technology we are now able to store and move energy as we see fit. If you are looking to keep your food cold during a camping trip, we recommend you to do what you would at home, use a refrigerator.

If your camp site doesn't have any electricity then using a solar generator is definitely your best bet.

By connecting solar panels to your solar generator you can in essence, keep your fridge powered 24/7 for the duration of your camping trip.
